INTRODUCTION

THE PRACTICE

ARKITEK JAS is an architectural practice registered in early November 1991. Subsequently, the practice is registered with the state Ministry of Finance and federal Ministry of Finance (Registration No. : T/1050 (A)/4/92 ) in 1992. However, over the years, the principal has gained wide working experience overseas and Malaysia, in works ranging from the mini Royal Palace in Brunei, University Brunei Darulssalam, Mosques, Islamic Centre, Islamic Museum, Religious Schools, Training Centres, Hospitals, Resorts, Multi-Purpose Halls, Office Shopping Complexes, Town Centre Planning, Club Houses, Residential Houses, Shops, Market, Majlis Daerah, Mahkamah Syariah, Apartments and Housing to Banks, etc.

The Principal was Project Architect ( in 1986-1990 ) for  the B$150 million University Brunei Darussalam ( under Arkitek Ibrahim ) and was responsible for co-ordination of three architectural firms and supporting consultants for the project.

DESIGN APPROACH / PHILOSOPHY

ARKITEK JAS has no pre-conceived architectural 'styles' but the basis for the practice's philosophy and general design's approach shall be to :-

(i)   Adopt simple and practical approach in generating design solutions in response to different site requirements / conditions.

(ii)  Mediate on space, form & light, as well as utilising modern materials & techniques to create works that are contemporary, regional, conservation, preservation and contextual.

(iii) Fulfill client's requirements for quality, quantity, cost and time in projects, to the best of practice's ability. Strict adherence to professionalism in job and contract administration.


PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

The practice believes in providing architectural training for local graduate architects and trainee draughtsmen from Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia ( Sabah Chapter ) and Sabah Institute of Technology. The number of intake depends on workload at the time.
